Seattle’s Northwest Pole Vault Club has quickly become one of the most productive pole vault training centers in the USA. In 2018, athletes who trained with us at least part time won 20 state medals, 5 state championships, two state meet records, three All-American honors, two Jr Olympics National Championships, and a Jr Olympic national record. Sound like the pinnacle? This year is even better! As of April 2019, the national leaders in three different grade levels are in our club.
Only a few years ago, girls could be state champions at 11’6" or 12’ and the female state record stood at 13'. Today, over a dozen girls that train with us are vaulting well over 12' and two of our vaulters have far exceeded the state record. Lianne Kistler recently became the national sophomore record holder at 14'1"and senior Chloe Cunliffe is now the all-time American Junior record holder outdoors at 14’8"and indoors at 14’9" which are the American Junior records as well.
At NWPV, 24” to 36” improvements in a single year are very common, and girls aren’t the only ones. Senior Bowman Starr has gone from 13’ to 16’10” in less than 2 years. Senior Zach Klobutcher had a sophomore height of 13’6" and now his PR is 16’5"so far this year. Senior Mathis Bresko improved from 13’ last year to 15’6"so far.
Our pole vault club is turning high level gymnasts – tall ones especially – into college ready pole vaulters at miraculous speed.
This year, 8 of our 10 seniors have been recruited to vault in colleges next year.
Another beautiful outcome of the training center is that a wide variety of Seattle area schools who rarely had great vaulters before are now enjoying huge program success due to a partnership with our club. A key reason is the rapport that NWPV maintains with area coaches whose athletes seek our help. Coaches can trust us to offer the best instruction with ongoing communication about club & team practices, video sharing, pole sharing & more.
The team atmosphere of the club is infectious. Our kids bond like teammates and have the times of their lives at larger invitationals, national meets and the Reno summit where they and their parents gather like family to enjoy their success.
Our legendary camps are gaining national attention. For over 30 years, our spring and summer camps have empowered thousands of athletes and their coaches not only in the Northwest and British Columbia but from every corner of the country. What is the secret to our success? What keeps athletes coming back year after year? Come and see for yourself.
In the meantime, keep watching state and national podiums for our red white and blue jerseys.

NWPV has been very important to the success of our children at this unique sport, strongly influenced by Coach Tim’s extensive knowledge and creative and patient teaching style. He has, from day one, believed in the potential of both our children (daughter and son), which has translated into two confident, successful pole vaulters. Thank you NWPV and Tim Reilly!

My son, Ryan Chase, a two-time Washington State Champion and a sophomore decathlete at the University of New Mexico, drove to Seattle from Olympia his senior year of high school to train with Tim regularly. The experience was truly worth the drive. Tim improved Ryan’s vaulting heights by two feet and guided his improvement in every competition that season. Tim easily diagnosed Ryan's weaknesses and was quick to find the right drills and cues to allow Ryan to progress.
Tim's facility offers great equipment and the instant video feedback during sessions is a really powerful coaching tool. But most importantly, Tim has amazing technical understanding of the event, patience with skill development and an ability to connect with the learning style of each athlete. Ryan loved working with Tim and looks forward to brush-up sessions over Christmas break!

NW Pole Vault is an extremely fun and welcoming environment for all skill levels that helped me improve two feet in just a few short months!"
~ Ryan Chase, Washington State Decathlon Champion, 2016, 2015
"NW Pole Vault is among the most elite pole vault training facilities in the state. Small practice sessions and top-tier coaching allows for a substantial amount of progress to be made in very short periods of time. All athletes from beginners to advanced are able to thrive in the pole vault tailored environment. Coach Reilly's decades of experience employ him with the expertise to connect with each and every athlete, no matter the skill level. Whatever level you hope to compete at, Tim Reilly will do everything in his power to help you get there. I have found more success through his gym than I have in any other local facilities. I can confidently say that NW Pole Vault has the most effective and efficient program in Western Washington."

As an old 18’3” pole vaulter myself from the ‘70s, I can say that Tim is awesome! I have watched him teach many times. He is very knowledgeable, and knows how to work with each athlete individually. The vault is very complex with many building blocks of skills required. Tim knows how to weave them all together in the right order. My kids have benefitted a great deal from working with Tim. Not only are they jumping high, but they understand what they are doing and can self- correct when needed.
Thanks Coach Reilly!
